Future of the School. . .
On the 16th June 2010 Gloucestershire County Council’s cabinet decided on grounds of finance and cost to authorise publication of statutory notices for the closure of Vale of Berkeley College with effect from 31st August 2011.  There is now a six week statutory period of representation before this decision is confirmed by cabinet. 
 
Despite the best efforts of the school community it has proved impossible to persuade them to a different course of action. 

The governors of The Vale of Berkeley College are considering whether or not to appeal. 

The Vale of Berkeley College is a unique and special place, made so by the students who attend the school.  We will continue to provide the very best education for our students and offer the care, support and guidance that they need. 

Our absolute priority will be working with students, parents, staff and governors to ensure that the solutions going forward are the ones that meet the needs of the students of The Vale of Berkeley College.
